THIS BLESSED HOUSE

             This Blessed House is a story that focuses on a couple whose love is questioned throughout. After only four months of really knowing each other Sanjeev and Twinkle get married out of arrangement. They were introduced by their parents. I found this to be somewhat old school for a couple to have their marriage arranged. Right away it is quite obvious that Sanjeev and Twinkle are opposite. Sanjeev has more of a serious attitude and he pays lots of attention to the opinion of others. But Twinkle on the other hand is livelier and she seems to always look on the bright side of things. Instead of opposites attracting in this situation Sanjeev seems to be annoyed by the things that Twinkle does for example when Twinkle insisted on wearing high heels and also when she left her undergarments at the foot of the bed. The little things just seem to disturb Sanjeev but on the other hand Twinkle has no problem with them. In this essay I am going to break down the character of Twinkle and also how she and Sanjeev were totally different individuals with nothing in common.
             Sanjeev's from the very beginning seemed to be influenced by society's ways when he takes his mothers advice before he married Twinkle. His mother said "You need a wife to look after and love (148.)" So I'm assuming that Sanjeev married Twinkle out respect of her mother. I guess he figured that it wouldn't hurt if he gave the marriage thing a shot. But Sanjeev didn't marry a woman who needed to be looked after but instead he married a woman that was very independent and americanized. Twinkle unlike Sanjeev did think outside of the box. She had an open mind when it came to religion. She accepted Christianity and appreciated it very much. Twinkle in this story did lots of the decision making. It was her who chose to put the Virgin Mary onto the front lawn. She in my opinion didn't play the traditional
