Illusion or Reality

             As I passed by an abandoned shopping center, on my way t work, my mind began to wonder. In the abandoned shopping center's place I saw Target filled with eager shopper's, my sister's and me standing in line at the movie theater to see the newest movie, and a post office with line's of people waiting in a line with boxes in there hands that need to be mailed. I blinked and my vision was gone, I then saw a empty parking lot and boarded up windows. I was pushed back to reality and only to realize that the shopping center I went to as a little girl had changed. In "Once More To The Lake" E. B. White believes that change must be accepted to avoid losing contact with reality. I agree with E. B. White, because people can get so wrapped up in a memory they don't see the changes that are taking place. It is because they don 't want to see the changes they would rather live in their memories than in reality.
             That week end I had to go back to the high-school I attended my freshman and sophomore year. As I was standing outside the building I remembered standing in that same spot waiting for my mom to pick me up, and it seemed as though nothing had changed. I proceeded into the building, I knew exactly where I was going. The halls were the same, they were still painted a yellowish color with our mascot painted on the wall. The lockers were still black and gold, with the same writing on them left behind by former students. Everything was the same as I had remembered. I turned down the hall that leads to the main office when I walked straight into a wall. This wall had never been here before and I knew that I wasn't lost because everything was the same as when I left. Only that particular wall was never there.
