ing wrong with her looks. When her mother died of diphtheria in 1892, Eleanor looked forward to living with her father whom she had been separated from because of her parents' marital problems (PBS). Left motherless at the age of eight, and did with out the company of the father who cherished her, she grew up uncomfortable with other children. Because she relied on her family for so much, she found that she was disappointed being at home as well. One day during a walk with her father and his dogs, he decided to stop in his club. Eleanor and the dogs waited for him outside. After six hours, the club's doorman walked Eleanor and the dogs home. In the end Eleanor forgave him, because she knew, after all his faults, that she still loved him and that she was first in his heart (B4-U-BUY).
