Marriage is a support system, of loyalty, stability, and creating a family. Many who enter into this commitment are living their dream of fulfilling their life to its fullest. Marriage is a relationship that brings two people together to complete their lives together as one. Relationships are viewed as two people building a lasting bond to come as one eventually into a committed marriage relationship.
             When it comes to same sex marriages, there are many issues. The biggest issue about same sex marriages is the traditional family; a woman as the mother, a man as the father, and 2.5 children, to make up a family. To create such a family there needs to be a woman, and a man to create children, to then create a family, which in turn is called a traditional family. In contrast with the traditional family, to help with population control, and adoption, same sex marriages could be useful in growing adoption numbers. More children could have homes if they were adopted. However, religiously, those of not of the same faith, can not be married to join as one. A Catholic man can not marry a Mormon woman under the catholic religion. Yet there is no amendments to the state constitution outlawing any but their faith a marriage license (Beevre). In religious and non religious families, the traditional family is the source of procreation. Without opposite sex marriages, traditional families would be history.
             In Massachusetts, "The question before us in whether, consistent with the Massachusetts constitution, the common wealth may deny the protections, benefits, and obligations conferred by civil marriage to two individuals of the same sex who wish to marry," Chief Justice Margaret Marshall.
