Ways of writing

             Everyone expresses themselves in some way or another, and writers are those whom express themselves through their writings. While artists may paint on canvases to express feelings writers speck on paper. I find writing an important element in ones life. When one writes they project themselves in an indirect way in their writing. And what makes writing important is that when you read ones writing you not only gain knowledge of the subject matter but also gain an understanding of the writer as a person.
             George Orwell is a well renowned political writer in the 1940's. In his youth Orwell developed an understanding that he will grow up to become a writer. To have such an ambition at a young age he probably grew up with that idea fixated in his mind that he should become a writer. This might be one of the major influences on him growing up; he started writing poems at a young age. It developed from there to more poems influenced by surroundings of the First World War. As he grew up his work progressed to playwrights, novels, and political writing.
             The four great motives to writing that Orwell suggests are the following: sheer egoism, which is a feeling that writers develop it, suggests lack of importance and a need to be famous and known. When I think of this its plain simple, why Orwell claims such a thing. Looking back to his childhood he was neglected as he states "I was somewhat lonely, and I soon developed disagreeable mannerisms which made me unpopular throughout my schooldays" (Orwell 107).
             Because of having such a lonely childhood Orwell grew up wanting to live up a life of an opposite scenario. Also, Orwell brings up the topic of the importance of writers as he includes "Writers share this characteristic with scientists, artists, politicians, lawyers, soldiers, businessmen-in short, with the whole top crust of humanity" (Orwell 110).
