Why has HACC's Enrollment Increased?
HACC's enrollment is higher than it's ever been. More students can be seen around campus, classes are larger, additional classes are being offered to accommodate the growth and there are new student clubs reflecting the new diversity of students. Why has enrollment at HACC increased so suddenly and rapidly?
What I believe to be one of the principal reasons for this boost is financial. We are all rudely aware of the economic state in this country. It's becoming harder for families to afford sending their children to colleges and universities. HACC is affordable for almost anyone. In addition to being less expensive, they have a wonderful support staff to help students get financial aid. HACC is a great place to go if you are struggling to make ends meat and need an education.
Attending HACC is very convienent if you live in the Harrisburg area. You don't have to move away or live in a dorm. Students can continue to live at home with their families, thus staying in the place they feel comfortable and also having a support system already in place. Harrisburg has an adequate bus system, so even without a vehicle, people can get to their classes from the comfort of their own homes!
The college allows you to take classes at your own pace, so people who must have full time jobs have enough time to work and go to school. Parents can take classes around their kid's schedule, because HACC lets you choose at what times of day your classes are. HACC offers you greater flexiablity and the ability to maintain your usual life while going to school.
