The concept of colonization has been the leading factor of worldwide expansion since the dawn of man's first governing bodies. On many occasions colonization pertained to uninhabited lands, but the majority includes land already previously neolithically developed by a native people. Usually these native people do not wish to be bothered by colonists but the colonists could care less of what the natives think. This creates an imbalance in favor which often, in human history, leads to violent bloodshed. Two main instances of this mortify scenario is the British colonization of North America and of the Ibo culture in Africa. Both of which were not very peaceful colonies due to the bitter disagreements if the cultures. Eventually both led to much bloodshed.
             There are many similarities between the two aforementioned colonies. One of which is the obvious act of Imperial British expansionism. Britain wanted to expand her beliefs of government and religion all about the world. Of course they felt their beliefs were correct and everyone else was basically wrong. Once Britain accomplished the task of spreading its beliefs, it could begin to control the areas it influenced. In some cases it succeeded in full such as the Ibo culture. In other cases it succeeded only in part like the North American colonies. All in all, it succeeded immensely.
             Many differences between these two colonizations exist as well. First off, the North America colonization consisted of the British infantry throwing away all ideas of peace when they forced the natives off their lands. As fir the Ibo culture, the British sent in only missionaries to attempt to convert the Ibo tribes to Catholicism. There eventually was minimal bloodshed in that instance. Minimal bloodshed is still bloodshed and is not necessary. In some cases colonization was brutal; and others were peaceful.
