             Statistically, "child sexual abuse is reported up to 80,000 times a year, but the number of unreported cases is far greater, because the children are afraid to tell anyone what has happened, and the legal procedure for validating an episode is difficult. The problem should be identified, the abuse stopped and the child should receive professional help.              Though there is no accurate way to determine if one sex is molested more than the other, it is understood that boys are less likely to reveal the nightmare. "By the late 1980s, there were over 750,000 adult women (approximately the population of the city of Baltimore) who admitted to being a victim of father-daughter incest" (Landau 54). "Females are often subject to sexual assault than young boys. In most cases the aggressors are not strangers, but rather neighbors, family friends, uncles, stepfathers, and fathers. Sexual exploitation by a known and trusted adult has unfortunately become a reality for some young people" (Landau 54). Incestuous fathers come from many socioeconomic levels, and often appear normal. Many present a solid front of respectability.
