American values are very different compared to England. You would get many contradicting answers, and even more blank stares, if you asked most Americans what the values are in the U.S. The mix of cultural values and beliefs in America is unlike any other country. We put a greater emphasis on money, physical appearance, and individual freedom and less of an emphasis on family values, respect, and selfishness. No matter how you look at it, Americans have an obsession of the dollar bill. Our welfare and social standard is dependent on how much wealth we have accumulated or inherited.
             In England, they have a high respect for their parents and elders. Whatever your parent tells you, you have to do it because it is the right way. Nudity isn't that big of a deal. People don't walk down the street naked or anything, but they wouldn't have congressional hearings over Janet Jackson showing half a breast either. Family is a very important part of life. Many families grow up in the same town and stay there for their entire lives. My grandma was born and raised in Sussex, England and out of her 11 brothers and sisters she was the only one to ever leave. All of her relatives still live in the same town and have gone to the same church their entire lives.
             Religion is a very important piece of English culture. Most people are Protestant and belong to the Church of England. Everybody attends church on Sunday's.
