Luis Cardenas's Career Possibilities
Luis was born in the largest city where his family lived there for generations. During the summer of his junior year he worked at a camp, teaching craft to ten year old boys. He enjoyed teaching so much that he decided to be teacher. After getting his B.A and a teaching credential he was faced with an unexpected situation that forced him to become a substitute teacher because there was no opening for a full time teacher. There was a management position that his friend came across, so he was told by his friend to go to the interview because luck was with him. There were several faculty members retiring and because of that he was given a permanent teaching position for his previous impression as a student teacher. Both jobs offered him a really good salary. Luis needs to make a choice on which jobs he should take and think about his salary, career advancement possibilities, job security, benefits, job satisfaction, helping people and the working environment between the two jobs.(Finish correct pg.1)
The first two things that most people would look for in a job would be the salary and the job security which goes for Luis as well. The salary for being a teacher would start at $29,000 a year but while at the Sunset National Bank they paid him $38,000 a year. He got payed more at the National Bank and would even work less. As a teacher he have to deal with kids ang grade theit works,yet he get less money. The amount of money that the school pays him is only enough to sustain his living standards. With the money the National bank pays him, he would able to buy a new car if he wanted to. If he looks at the job security he might as well choose teaching over the National Bank even though he gets payed more.
