Reading a story of a young girls' experience with cheating and her confusion about a friendship, reminds me of my own struggles with cheating. All through junior high and high school I had many experiences with cheating in some form or another. Whether it was helping a friend get the answers or helping myself to a friends' answers. Needless to say I can relate to this young lady's experience. However, my entire view on cheating changed when I entered college.
             After completing my first semester at City College and looking back on the past six months, I came to a realization that cheating doesn't help in the long run. I can remember my teachers standing in front of the class talking about a certain subject but I cannot recall how they came to that conclusion. I do remember getting the answer right on the final but that was due only to the seemingly undying bond between high school students around test time. Now I have to go back and spend time reviewing how that teacher came to the conclusion so I can further apply that situation in my math class now. Instead of paying attention and studying in high school I have punished myself in college.
             That has been my giant eye-opener about cheating. This also applies to a friend of mine attending a well-respected University today. On the entrance exam for a certain college, my friend had another person write his essay. Now instead of going to a great school and enjoying it, he must still attend that great university but struggle to keep an acceptable grade point average or he will be kicked out and forced to move back home with his parents. This is all due to his lack spending the extra time in writing his own entrance essay.
