The president probably the single most important jobs in the United States. He must lead the country everyday in deciding what the military does, dealing with other nations, and with other internal affairs. He gets every day to day thing courtesy of tax payers but he is also the most targeted person. Putting aside him or her dealing with the press the president also runs the risk of assassination because of him holding such an powerful seat.
             One of the roles the president must fill is the role of commander in chief. Commander in chief is the leader of all United states military personal. In the movie he fulfills it by meeting with the leading generals and admirals. He tells them how to handle the situation in Cuba. He also gives order tell them to cancel other flights in parts of the world or other exercises.
             Another role of the president is chief diplomat. He must make deals with the governments of another nation. In the movie the president meets with the Russian ambassador. He gets other nations to try and put economic pressure on the communists. In the end he must make a deal with the Russian premier.
             The president is also the head of state. He host the ambassadors from other countries. He meets with other American politicians which could also be considered the party leader. He is acting as the leader of the country in the time of that crisis.
             I would have liked to be the president during that time. Even though it was very difficult decision that must have been made I would have rather it be with me than with one of those crazy generals. I think that I could have acted rationally during that crazy time.
