Grandma

             Yesterday I went to my friend's house for lunch, her Mother was preparing congee for us. The smell of the congee brought me back memories of my grandmother and me. When I tasted the congee, it was different from Grandma's, although it has been 8 years but I haven't forgotten the unique tastes of Grandma's congee. After the last spoon of my friend's mother's congee, the memories playing in my head stopped, and bought me back to reality.
             It's been eight years now, and yet it seems like it was just yesterday. I remember my grandmother became really sick. She was coughing and her chest hurt really badly. We took her to the doctor thinking she might have pneumonia. At the doctor's appointment he said he wasn't sure what was wrong and wanted to have some tests ran. . They ran the tests at the hospital, and told us we would have to wait until the next week to get the results. It seemed like an eternity waiting for the results!
             Finally, the results came back. They said she had some spots on her lungs and it was cancer. I never expected them to come back and say my grandmother had cancer! I have never felt so helpless in my entire life I had to totally depend on someone else to make sure my grandmother was going to be all right. The doctor was hopeful. He thought that through chemotherapy and radiation treatments that the cancer might go into remission.
             So for the next six months, I watched my grandma go through things that no one should ever have to go through; she lost all of her hair. After every treatment she would be so sick she couldn't eat and if she did try to eat she couldn't keep it down.
             The doctor kept a close eye on her progress during the chemotherapy. The news was very encouraging . He told us that the spots were getting smaller. After her chemo-therapy treatments we received some good news the doctor said that her cancer was in remission, and that he wanted
