Sir Thomas Moore

             Sir Thomas more was born February 7, 1478 in London, England. At a young age he began
             working as a Archbishop. People predicted that he would be a "marvelous man." More studied at
             Oxford, he studied Greek and Latin Literature while he was there. Most of More's first works were
             comedies and a biography. In 1494 Thomas More returmed to London to study law, he became a
             lawyer in 1501. More entered England's parliament in 1504. He was married in 1505 for the first
             time. In 1511 Mores first wife died in childbirth; they had four children. Soon after More marries a
             widow Alice Middleton. He was made Under-Sheriff of London a position at which he served four
             years. In 1515 Thomas More went on a diplomatic mission to Antwerp where he began writing
             Utopia. More returned to London in 1516 he had finished his famous book Utopia. More became
             good friends with King Henry VIII which gave him a lot of influence politically. In 1521 he was
             knighted and made sub-treasurer to the king. More built himself a mansion about 100 yards from the
             Thames river. In 1529 More bacame Chancellor of England a great accomplishment. He was
             Chancellor of England for only three years and then he settled down and focused more on his writing.
             For religious reasons More didnt support his friend King Henry when he was divorcing his wife , so the
             king threw More in jail. On July 7, 1535 Thomas More was decapitated and then he was canonized by
             Sir Thomas More is known as one of the most famous authors of his time period. His most
             famous work is Utopia. He wrote other books such as Responsio ad Lutherum, Dialogue Concerning
             Heresies, Confutation of Tyndales Answer, and Treatise on the Passion and Dialogue of Comfort
