The History of Health-focused Dieting:
In the last half century gone by, medical and technological advances have superceded those of any other fifty year period in history. If I was able to go back these Fifty-years, and take with me a laptop computer of the latest technology, claiming it as an invention of my own, I would undoubtedly be hailed as one of the greatest inventors of all time. And just imagine if I'd gone back millennia, to a time when Jesus walked the earth. Surely I would've had my name in the Bible; as such an invention could only have been created through God-like powers. However, what's funny is that tomorrow, experts at Microsoft will probably come up with a new version of that very same laptop, but would've bettered it tenfold. That's how fast we're advancing as a race. We are learning exponentially by the day. From pharmaceutical medicines and natural health cures to household appliances and computer gadgets; no aspect of our modernised lives has gone unaffected by technology. One would've thought that with all this 'exponential' development, of medical wisdom in particular, our lives would be long and full of vitality and health. Yet, in actual fact, we are plagued by a multitude of life-threatening diseases, deadly ailments and unwanted frailty. This in turn has forced many into a search for the perfect diet and exercise regime. Ironic that with such advanced knowledge, all we can do to fix the worldwide epidemic of obesity is simply to come up with a myriad of wacky exercises, gimmick supplements and fad diets that never seem to hold their claims of long term weight loss, at least, until the Ketogenic Diet came along... again.
