Two Different, but Similar Individuals
             Although these two individuals play a major role in my life, they both have their differences and similarities. Because both of my parents were raised with a different life style, being the oldest, I been able to understand how complicated it can be when raising children with two different parenting skills. My mother and father have always been by my side during good times or bad times, however, both of them have raised my brothers and I based on their own life experiences. Of course, they have never failed to guide my brothers and me through the right path.
             My mother has always been by my side no matter what. On the other hand, my father missed pretty much all of my teenage years. By contrast, they both have been hardworking parents. My dad, who started working at a very young age was never able to afford to sit down and spent time with my brother's and me. He worked from Monday through Saturday twelve hours a day; Sundays became his only day off, which he used it to sleep and rest. Consequently, spending time with my dad was never choice.
             Equally important, my mother is a hardworking individual as well. Soon after my younger brother was born, my mother needed to quit her job. She gave birth to my little brother, who was born premature. Because my little brother needed my mother by his side, it was impossible for her to continue her job. This gave her the opportunity to spend more time with us than my dad. I came to realize that her new job as a fulltime mom of a premature baby was more hard work than working in a factory.
             Meanwhile my dad was giving us his conditional love; my mother tried giving us her unconditional love. As most Mexican males, they have always had a hard time expressing their love towards their children. My fathers' dad was a typical "macho".
