It seems that she is trying to make Creon feel guilty or see that his rulings are wrong for sentencing her death, but she does accept her death because she would rather stay honourable to her brother than letting him rot in the field: "...This death of mine Is of no importance; but if I had left my brother Lying in death unburied, I should have suffered. Now I do not" (Sophocles, Scene II, line 68-71). The family honour that is shown by Antigone through her love for Polyneices, illustrates the strong person that she is by not defying her beliefs in the laws of the gods and by accepting her death by Creon.
             In the Shakespearean tragedy Othello by William Shakespeare, the main female character, Desdemona, is encountered with many events in which her honour for her husband is shown through her love for him. At the beginning when her father, Barbantio, hears that she has married Othello, he is outraged and shocked and begins to curse with racist comments towards Othello calling him "the Moor" (Shakespeare, I, i, 57) and accuses him of witch craft to seduce his daughter. When Desdemona is confronted with her father she confirms that she has married Othello for love: "That I did love the Moor to live with him" (Shakespeare, I, iii, 249). Desdemona reveals herself to be out spoken and assertive when she speaks with her father. This scene also shows Desdemona's great honour and devotion to her new husband and new life, although she still honours her father: "...I am hitherto your daughter. But here's my husband, And so much duty as my mother showed to you, preferring you before her father, so much I challenge that I may profess due to the Moor my lord"( Shakespeare, I, iii, 187-190).
