Most students have struggled hour after hour in the attempt to triumph over the vexing task of writing yet another essay for that exacting instructor. Does this sound familiar? What can a person do to achieve that perfect grade without this strain? How does one accomplish this grueling mission?
             First, we need to identify the tasks, recognize our strengths, and then, we can proceed appropriately. In the battle for the perfect grade, the tasks are clearly recognizable: exasperating essays, overwhelming homework, and worrisome exams.
             Obtaining the perfect grade takes more than merely registering for classes. To have any chance of completing these daunting tasks, you have to want to be victorious. Without this deep desire to prevail, the battle will be lost. Therefore, commitment, motivation, and determination, our strengths, are imperative in this struggle.
             Now that the tasks and strengths have been identified, it is time to follow the appropriate procedure for achieving that perfect grade. Please keep in mind that the order of these steps may need to be altered to accommodate your class schedule but make sure all steps are followed.
             At the beginning of each term, thoroughly study the syllabus for each class. Pay close attention to the class policies, deadlines and specific requirements for assignments. Most instructors will provide a detailed syllabus outlining which chapters will be covered throughout the term, the daily assignments that correspond with each chapter, other assignments during the term, and the dates for each exam.
             Once you have obtained the syllabus from each class and studied them, record all homework, required readings, and exams into a student planner. Forming this list will alleviate the confusing and time-consuming task of flipping between syllabi in search of the next assignment. Make sure to update your planner each time an instructor assigns additional homework or adds extra exams.
