Parent and Child Relationship

             A child does not listen to their parents! This is not something that surprise people today. Actually it has been going on for hundreds of years. The parent and child relationship have not changed much over the years. The child does not want to listen to the parent. The most common reasons for parent and child relationship problem is trust, beliefs, and knowledge.
             The trust between parent and child is weak because the parent and child would lie to one another. The child does not believe their parents and vice versa. For example, in "The Myth of Daedalus and Icarus" Daedalus said to his son "Icarus, my son, I charge you to keep at a moderate height, for if you fly too low the damp will clog your wings, and if too high the heat will melt them. Keep near me and you will be safe." This was said right before their flight with their wings. Unfortunately, Icarus does not listen to his father and died that day of his stupidity. This myth was from the 1700's now it is year 2000 and children are still not listening to his or her parents.
             The parent and child have different beliefs on who is right and who is wrong. The parent believes that they are right, but the child thinks that they are wrong. For example, when Daedalus told his son to follow him, so he would be safe. But Icarus did not hark to his father because he was thinking that he is right and his father does not know what he is talking about. Unfortunately, he did not hark and lost his life because of being so stubborn. Today's parent tells their child to not use drugs, but the child does it anyhow and it ends up in the same way as Icarus "DEAD."
             Parents are more knowledgeable then their child. Children think they know more then their parents, but parents have been around longer and have comprehend more then the child would know about life and how to survive.
