Poseidon

I am Poseidon god of the sea. My Roman name is Neptune. I am also known as the Earth Encircler and the Earth Shaker. I am son of Cronos and Rhea. I am one of the six original Olympian Gods. I am the brother of Hades, Hestia, Demeter, Hera, and Zeus. My kingdom is in the great sea. I have populated the sea with my creations. I ride the waves of the sea on a chariot pulled by dolphins. My best creation of all was the horse. My mission is to give voice to the earth. People tell many tales of me. One of the most famous tales is the story of The Odyssey. This story tells of a very clever man named Odysseus who devised a plan to outsmart my son Polyphemus and the son of the sea nymph Thoosa. Odysseus blinded my son. The reason he did this was because he needed to escape and return back home. I would have forgiven Odysseus because he and his men were going to die if he did not escape, but Odysseus went too far. Not only did he blind Polyphemus he also insulted him.
When Odysseus and his shipmates got insides Polyphemus' cave they were frightened to find out that Polyphemus was a Man Eater. Odysseus uses his clever instincts and relaxes the cyclone with wine and talk. Odysseus and his men used a burning spear to poke the cyclone's eye. As Odysseus escaped he taunted my son with cruel insults. I was outraged and wasn't going to let Odysseus get away with this. I was going to punish him severely and not even the all mighty Zeus can protect Odysseus from my wrath. I decided not to kill him but instead to give him an even more terrible punishment. I caused him and his wife great misery by taking him farther and farther away from his home and thus, his happiness.
