This journal is on the novel The Runaway Jury by John Grisham. The book is about a lawsuit against a cigarette company which is a very controversial subject. I am not to sure where the story takes place but I believe it may take place in Biloxi which is in Mississippi. The main characters first introduced in the book were Nicholas Easter who is a twenty-seven year old man whose college education is a mystery and also a member of the jury in the cigarette lawsuit. Also introduced was Rankin Fitch a man hired to evaluate the jury and also hired by the cigarette companies to win the case be any means. Further in the story I was introduced to Marlee who is trying to extort money from the cigarette companies by using Nicholas Easter to help her. As I am reading this story it was most likely written to entertain its audience, but there are some facts about cigarettes that may teach a person about the dangers of them. This novel is different from others I have read because the author has many side stories along with the main plot. Grisham gives unneeded information and names of characters that are only seen for a few pages. The language in the story seems normal and not to different from my own style. One of my favorite characters is Marlee because I like her style she handles everything smoothly even though she is probably nervous.

I feel the ending wasn't a good ending because throughout most of the story I had already figured out what the ending would be like and for the most part I was right. Overall I feel this story wasn't the best I have read. I feel like it was missing something. A few more plot twists or any plot twists at all would have made this story better. The positive things about the story are that it had a very good plot and Grisham did a goo...
