Perception is viewed as the way the mind is interpreted.
             In other words it is the seeing, noticing and realising or simply giving meaning to things. Perception differs from one individual to another and therefore making it subjective. In the arts and sciences as areas of knowledge, perception plays different roles in each one of them.
             In the Arts, perception is subjective for example when the picture of Mona Lisa I looked at in a sad mood her face seems angry whilst if happy she looks as if she is smiling at you. Thus in the Arts perception is state dependent in the sense that whatever meaning an artist or viewer may give meaning depends on their mood. As a result, when sad it therefore becomes easier to remember sad events than happier ones.
             One can claim that a piece of work is A and another B and so fourth. Therefore your claim cannot be proved or falsified because it is perceived for its own sake. Arts can be interpreted for different reasons that is; mood or emotion, past experience, the works relation to the viewer, contents, motives and ideas. This obviously differs from one person to another. Art is a projection of perception.
             In the Sciences perception is the factual knowledge that has been proven, accepted, believed and is truth. Perception is therefore unbiased in science because it is not dependent on individual interpretation. It is therefore objective. Experiments are carried out to prove or disprove ones perception.
             It can be deduced that, in Arts perception cannot be tested, that is carrying out experiments carries out no experiments for proof and its validity in the Sciences all this is open to falsification.
             In conclusion would like to raise the point that although perception plays a different role in the two areas of knowledge there is a prominent relationship between the Arts and Sciences. Science is dependent on Arts because it proves the validi...
