I consider it an issue that person(s) should come to have a level of understanding about a things in life. A person should know how to find a way to live by understanding their own nature, finding meaning, and controlling their perspective. These are no "secrets of life" but merely simplistic observations designed to clarify existence.
First of all, I find that in any given living situation a human does two things. The first is that they adapt to their environment in order to reach a level of happiness in which they can continue living out their lives, in a state of pseudo-contentment. The second thing that they do is they find something that often appears to be much, much greater than however their current situation appears to them at the time. This gives them something to strive for as they move forward and try to better their lives. The two devices are completely natural and work in cooperation with each other that, despite seeming to contradict each other, have a combined power to keep one human alive, which is, after all, the point of life itself- self-preservation.
Next, meaning can be added to one's life in a number of ways. One of the most common is religion. As such, religion allows us to view our hardships not as hardships, but as steps that we all must take on our divine journey. Simply being alive puts someone on a journey, and there is nothing an individual can do to help him or her self. Every difficulty we face in our everyday lives are simply steps put there by God to further our development as individuals. It is part of faith that one believes at the end of all things, there will be good. There is nothing wrong with putting your fate into the hands of God. A person's journey is complete only when they find a sense of oneness with their existence.
