When assigned to write an essay on any topic in the world that concerns me today, I have to be honest with you, I dreaded it. I can remember back to when I was in High School; you always had that one teacher who just loved to assign essays. He would find a way to include them in all their homework assignments, tests and even handed them out for extra credit. I started to get that same feeling about this class that I did when I was in high school. The kind that made you wish you had taken yet another home economics class instead of that that AP History class your mom made you sign up for. But then again, I thought, when do you get asked about how you feel in the military? No one really lets you just voice your opinion about what you think is right or wrong. And maybe, just like in high school, that teacher who you dreaded in the beginning turns out to be one of your favorite teachers by the end of the year.
             With all that is going on, it's a little hard for one to not think about the war. It is not yet upon us, but if you have watched the news within the last three months, you can see its right around the corner. Everyone knows how serious things can get when the word "war" is considered the only solution for a problem. It wouldn't be used if it weren't the absolute last resort. The President doesn't want to do something he doesn't have to do, especially when he knows it's going to have such a huge effect on his nation. We have all these protestors marching and chanting that the war is immoral and should not be used against Iraq. Some protestor have been quoted on CNN saying that this war is unjust and that Bush is just being a bully for sending all these troops to Iraq. They also have been quoted saying the President needs to give Iraq more time to disarm their missiles and time for them to prove that they will follow out the rules put forth in resolution 1441.
