Many parents rely on video games as the perfect baby sitter today. As kids play they learn from their teacher and aggression level rises. Therefore, the responsibility to keep the lesson they learn clean must be taken soon. The terrifying effects of computer game violence will have to change through the combined effort of parents and the game industry.
First of all, parents are their children's first mentors whom they look to for guidance and help. They must be responsible and send their children on the right way. Many parents don't know what goes on in video games, which they buy their children. When they go into a store, they tend to live by "buy now, and ask questions later," but parents can know what is in the game before the buy, if they take attention in to what they play.
Equally important, as technology expands, games become better, leaving parents behind. It is time to move with the times and stock up on the knowledge of games today. From "C" for young children to "A" for adults, the game industry prints on every game. The first step; parents must know how the rating system works and live by it when they enter the Best buy and Comp U.S.A. A new idea going around to help sell games, is play before they pay and parents with a little extra help could experience the games them selves. It will take effort and time is all it takes to help keep the "violent" games away from children. Now is the time for parents to step up and take the responsibility.
