Hormel is the first company known for creating Spam. They have gone as far as conjuring up many different types of Spam. The first Spam, which they introduced in 1937, is called Spam; the other brands that Hormel has created are Turkey Spam, 25% Less Sodium Spam, Lite Spam, and Spam Smoked Flavor. Hormel has also made Spam available in 7oz cans and 12oz cans with prices ranging from $1.89 for the 7oz cans and $2.79 for the 12oz, while the other brands only make the canned Spam available in 12oz cans, and only have the "original" flavor available. The two brands were found in Acme stores that made a generic type of Spam are Acme Brand and Libby's Brand. The amount of Spam that was being sold in each container also varied. The two generic brands only had 12oz cans available with prices ranging from $1.99 for the Acme Brand to $2.19 for Libby's Brand. The packaging for the generic brands resembles that of Hormel's brand of Spam. They all come in a can with an easy to open top. However, the two generic brands come with a red label while Hormel uses the same label color that they've used for over 65 years.
             Hormel has become a well known food source through out other countries. Their global expansion covers approximately 101 countries. Furthermore, Korea considers Spam a delicacy and people in Hawaii eat more Spam per person than any other state (Spam Official Web Site).
             Hormel has created recipes for their different types of Spam. On their official web page they have recipes that give the nutritional facts for each recipe.
