Life is unfair. One may not get what he or she wants, but sees it in another party. There are always changes in life. Nothing is constant. Best of friends do not stay either.
             When one is young he is naive, oblivious to what reality sets for them. That is why childhood days are always full of happy memories.
             One should not rush things. Sometimes it is better to wait. Western marriages as compared to Chinese marriages are seen as quite a trivial matter. Divorces are common.
             Mary is a worthy friend. She hides her illness from author so that author does not worry about her. Memories of them being together is important to author, that is why she is jealous, envious of Mary. It is wrong for her to feel jealous of Mary.
             What might have happened to their relationship?
             The friendship bond between both of them has weakened. Jealousy is a very potent poison. It is jealousy which caused author to be envious of Mary. Jealousy has caused the author to look at things at only her own perspective and not others'. She failed to see the big picture.
             What would I do if I were the author?
             I would not forgive myself for failure to see the big picture, in which I hated Mary. I should have visited her earlier on, at least once. I would feel happy for Mary too, as she has left, and not going to feel the pain anymore. She has gone to 'paradise'. I would not attend her funeral. I would be too ashamed to see her, unable to face her.
