The fiberglass was in the air. The haze of the steam and tiny particles
floating through out the shop. The echoing of the machinery in one's ear.
The awful stench nearly unbearable. The filth covered clothing.
Coming from the city to a small country school was hard for me in my
late teens. I didn't like being away from my friends from the city. I missed
not being able to walk to blocks to a friends house or to the store for a
snack. I started to rebel against my parents wishes for me. I begin to
experience drinking and smoking cigarettes. I would stay out past curfew to
be among my friends and my sweetheart. The late night and early mornings
became consistent. This hindered my schooling. I didn't worry about
homework or prepare for test. Despite all of this I managed to graduate.
I lived with my parents until age twenty. It was then when I would
come upon a major occurrence that would change my life forever. I was
becoming a mother. Since the father of my son was not in my life. I would
face this all on my own. In order for me to become independent I needed a
job that would support my independent living. The job I chose was at night
so it worked out well with my babysitter. The feeling of independence was
so important to me at this time. I wanted a house of our own. I was willing
to dedicate my time for the feeling of self responsibility.
Talking with people was easy for me. Although interacting with the co worker was quite a challenge. I found many different personalities. I
started seeing things differently. I really liked the feeling the co workers
gave me. Sometimes I didn't know how to react to the conversation that was
being addressed. Everything was new to me but I wanted to learn and adjust.
