An Unpretentious Proposal

             Two years ago in preparation for a trip to Detroit, I tuned into the weather
             channel to get a forecast of conditions to expect upon my arrival. They reported that the weather in Detroit would be in the upper 60s to the mid 70s, thus I packed accordingly. The first day that I was there, it snowed. As I stood on the sidewalk in my shorts, with snow pelting me in the face, I came to the conclusion that something was horribly wrong. Since its original discovery in 1985, the hole in our ozone layer has grown 30% in just 20 short years. Thus letting in dangerous amounts of Ultra-violet radiation, and causing great amounts of confusion and damage to the biome that we call earth.
             Al Roker is a famous weather man on NBC in New York city. Three years ago there was a blizzard ravaging the city, and Al Rocker went on the news and said that there would be 4 – 12 inches of snow. There was 36 inches. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, he was 2 feet off. That is not even close. Al Roker gets paid 1.5 million dollars a year to do the weather, and does not know anything about the weather. Granted that it is not entirely his fault, as there are other factors involved, but the fact still remains that he is utterly useless and serves no purpose. The number one watched channel in this country is the weather channel. The government was worried about terrorists immobilizing us, but we were doing it to ourselves. You don't get more immobile than sitting around watching "meteorogists" give incorrect information when you would be better off going to the window and looking outside at the weather. It shows a great amount of patience for us as a people to allow this kind of money to be spent on people like this for no reason when there are much better things that it could be used for.
