The beauty of literature lies not only within its words but also in the seemingly hidden meaning that appears to perpetuate our lives. Throughout history, humanity has been subject to choosing a road that has been traveled by many; predecessors that have perambulated on a road brewed from narrow-minded views and opinions. Literature has entailed within its contextual meanings a stereotype of the image and behavior of woman that writers of that time (who were predominantly male figures) believed should be worshipped and acknowledged. The stereotypes that have been situated within literature create an image of a female character that has little depth and function at the shallowest levels. Women were depicted as being positively beautiful, at the expense of her intellect. Instead, the intellectual becomes a factor that diminishes into non-existence, and thus unimportance.
             Given the premise that literature was a field dominated by men, one may conclude that this myth is one that was created by men and imposed or even internalized by their female counterparts. Women's modernism was shaped by a radical challenge to linguistic, spiritual, and social conventions, particularly as these writers journeyed further and further from the world of their ancestors into territory marked off as forbidden by patriarchal ideology. Not until the nineteenth-century did women dare to advance through education in order to undermine the idea that woman were made to inspire rather than to create. Exemplifying the female character was not an easy task instead through the voice of a female character and/or narrator did we only see a realistic portrayal rather than the idealized notion that was far from the truth.
