During the lifetime of Confucius, and even up till today, Confucius' teachings have taught many the gentility and mannerisms needed in one's lifetime, and has implemented both his social and political philosophies in these teachings, causing many people's lives to change with this enlightenment. Confucius not only taught about morals, but he also taught his students about proper speech, government, and the refined arts, providing a well rounded individual who is capable to do almost anything that is possible. Confucius' life and teachings has not only changed the lives of the Chinese, but also the view of millions of people across the world. Even today, his teachings are remembered and seen throughout stories, movies, and even found in songs.
             While Confucius was alive, he taught what is believed to be about three thousand students, only seventy though being capable of mastering the arts which he cherished. Though only seventy mastered these arts, Confucius took any student no matter what their social rank was, as long as they were tireless and willing. His teachings then, are not only for the nobility and higher class, but for all levels of social class, and should be learned or even thought about in consideration by everyone, for Confucius' teachings after all taught how to become a better person.
             Confucius' philosophy on politics deals with the ruler being a ruler, and yet doing what's best and in the right interest of his people, as seen in this next quote, "If the people be led by laws, and uniformity among them be sought by punishments, they will try to escape punishment and have no sense of shame. If they are led by virtue, and uniformity sought among them through the practice of ritual propriety, they will possess a sense of shame and come to you of their own accord (Lunyu 2.3; see also 13.6.)."
