At the same time, towards the north, is Taiwan and China over Taiwan's gaining of independence. The recent implementation of the Anti-Secesstion law has further hamper the reunification process of Taiwan and China. The pro-independence Taiwanese President Chen Shui Bian has even led 300,000 people to stage a protest against the Anti-Secesstion law. Unless there is compromise and accommodation between the two countries, global peace will always be a distant reality today.
