Similar percentage differences were found for all types of risks, indicating that females tend to perceive travelling as a more risk-prone activity than males. Thus, when promoting travel insurance, it should be kept in mind that the risk perception of females is different and more significant than that of the male travellers, who often try to think of a solution on the go. The risks identified by males referred to everyday instances like theft and road accidents, while that of females referred to more intense and uncommon risks of terrorist activities and natural disaster.
