As the Americans doubled their daily intake of sugar, more and more children are getting diseases associated with obesity. According to the documentary Fed Up, cases of type two diabetes among adolescents in 1980 was zero and in 2010 was 57,683. This statistic speaks for itself showing major public health issues among people with obesity at a young age (Soechtig 2014).
