living in a country. When a country is said to "develop" it makes steps forward in technology and industry which helps rise the overall standard of living in a country. Since the industrial revolution many countries have developed at an astounding rate. Technology is being invented and reinvented and making life easier for everyone. In order for these advances to occur, countries must share information and it must be flexible and open to ideas and change. This is why Nigeria had experienced very little change while under military rule. The government allowed very little outside ideas and kept the country in virtually the same state for the entire time it was in power. Nigeria has begun to change and become more willing to cooperate and listen to the ideas of other countries. It is only a matter of time before Nigeria begins to grow and move towards bigger and better things.
             Nigeria faces many obstacles that it needs to overcome before it begins to grow and develop. Government corruption is the main factor that has prevented Nigeria from reaching its potential. The government has brought Nigeria into a massive amount of debt and instead of using the money it has wisely, the high ranking officials use it for their own personal gain. With the new government in power however, it appears that this corruption and secrecy is in the past and Nigeria has taken steps towards a bright future. There are other factors like the vast difference in language and culture in Nigeria that may be harder to get rid of.
