             Through the thirteen years of public school, from Kindergarten to Twelfth grade, the purpose is to prepare a child to enter the real world and to live successfully as possible. Elementary school is only a stepping-stone to Middle School and High School, and serves only to allow a child to mature. It is the process in which Middle School and High School operates as "efficientâ€" as possible that perplexes one's mind. The "preparationâ€" and " pertinenceâ€" to a child's future is not completely clear in the way America's children are educated. Throughout your education, the value of the SAT's is continually stressed to the point where it is one of the child's goals to succeed in acing them. The mandatory course selection requiring two years of science, three years of social studies, three years of math, and four years of English only makes one inquire, is all this necessary? To many school officials it deems to be, but a deeper look inside it exposes the relevant nature of our children's education.
             The SAT's are taken at the end of eleventh grade and tests the child's math, English and comprehension skills. Starting as early as elementary school, small children are told about how the SAT's are the most important test in their school career, and the tales of students scoring 1600. Colleges regard SAT scores as the telltale signs whether a student is "badâ€" or "goodâ€". The amazing part is that a mere three hours of testing can parallel thirteen years of schooling. On a larger scale, these measly three hours of testing will affect how successful you are in the rest of your life! The great college you go to and the preferable careers you pursue will all hang by a thread depending on how well you can answer questions.
