Everyone in the world should experience being on some type of sports team. Believe it or not, you can learn a lot that is essential to life and very helpful in the world today such as dedication, teamwork, and on top of all that, becoming physically fit. First of all, sports teaches dedication; you'd learn to work hard in the off season to be the best player you can possibly be, just like going to school or training for a particular job you want. For example, in football: you'd lift and run in the off season to get stronger and go to camps to better your skills, as in a job environment, you would take classes to better yourself in that particular field of work. Then, you can learn teamwork and how to be a team player. You'd learn to put your team first and learn to do what's best for the team. As in basket ball, playing team basketball is better than playing selfishly. Once you get caught up in individual stats, that's when a team falls apart because you put yourself first, such as on the job: if you make decisions because they are best for you instead of for your co-workers, then that would cause problems in the work place. Also, you will learn to work together to accomplish a common goal. Finally, playing any sport will keep you physically fit because you are always staying active. And staying active can prevent many health risks such as some types of cancers and high blood pressure.
