Greeks fought with Troy. For many years thousands of man died, sacrificing their lives to defeat the Trojans. Odysseus is a Greek soldier that had to go to the Trojan War the day his baby is born. Achilles a Greek soldier dies, because the Trojans kill him. The Greeks pretend to surrender and they give Troy a Trojan horse. Hidden within the horse are Greek soldiers ready to break out and attack once they are within Troy's gate. The Trojans are a little skeptical about whether or not to accept their gift and one man says no we don't accept it, and then a monster comes out of the sea and squeezes one of the Trojans to death. This happens because Poseidon the god of the sea becomes furious that they won't accept this great gift. Once the Greeks are in Troy they bust out and start slaying the Trojans. They set Troy on fire. Poseidon talks to Odysseus, and Poseidon says, " You've forgotten how I've helped you", and Odysseus replies, " You haven't helped me win the war, us man did it ourselves". Poseidon says, " You will suffer!"
             Poseidon punishes Odysseus so he cannot get back to Ithaca for 10 years. So after getting lost they find some shelter and they find food, but little do they know that the shelter that they find it of Poseidon's son Ploythemes; the Cyclops. The manage to get out and they blind him by stabbing his eye when he is fast asleep with a huge, sharp log. After escaping the terrifying Cyclops they jump back on the ship, and sail to an island and as Odysseus is trying to find water, and he meets Insoles , Poseidon's cousin; the god of wind. He decides to help out Odysseus by giving him the power to use wind when he wanted in a bag to help get back to Ithaca with.
