This quote by Nancy Willard imply that in The Joy Luck Club the mothers and daughters disappoint each other because of the each others actions. They don't deliberately hurt them, however they end up hurting them with either their actions or comments. Even though they are disconcert, they forgive each other. They don't hold a grudge, and what's most important to them they each other and that's the most important factor. The mothers and daughters learn more about each other and they come to understand and respect one another. At first there is a lot of confusion, but as time goes by they are able to learn more about each other and understand why things happen they way they do. They come to an understanding and are able to resolve and overcome their predicaments.
             Reading this book, made me realize that our mothers know more about us than we think. They are a part of their daughters, after all they are their blood. Mothers and daughters have a special bond that cannot be broken, that is why they are able to forgive each other. I agree and disagree with this quote by Amy Tan. I agree because the mothers and daughters learn from each other and this helps them develop emotionally and spiritually. They will always be there for each other for better or for worse. Mothers have an instinct to nourish their young, so as long as they are around, they will always look out for them and conquer any intricacy they acquire. I disagree with this quote because in one of the Chinese families, the mother did not like what her daughter got into and she was never forgave her...
