Hippies

             The hippies stared in the 1960s as a protest against war and to make peace .
             They were all pretty much drug addicts the liked to smoke weed.
             The also thought that the world should be peaceful and that everybody should love each other they were all about peace and love. They made lots of protest against the war of Vietnam but it did not have any affect seeing how they were on drugs. Most people except teens hated them a lot for the care free ways . The hippies started a new way of life . Today teens listen to punk and heavy metal the hippies had rock and roll .Some great artist like Jimmy Hendrix were among the hippie era. The hippies had a kinds of cool stuff from music to clothes the hippies were really different from the way life was .
             They did do illegal stuff like smoke weed or taking pills but they did have a lasting impression on the world .There music is still heard today and most everybody knows the hippies .There fashion of clothes are starting to make a come back .If it wasn't for hippies we wouldn't ignescents sticks or stuff like tie die or bellbottoms so they did have a lasting impression on the society of today . there sense of fashion is still around today.
             The government side is totally different , They saw the hippies as a form of communism rising up in the U.S. . Many protest were turned in to brutalities by the police because of the hippies being different . The police used tear gas , nightsticks and fist to dismiss the hippie protest . The government really did not like hippies and there ways .
             Parents of teens also saw the hippies as a threat to there children .The teens then were mostly church oriented they did not know about a lot of the drugs we have today or then . So the parents did not want there children to become hippies . Most teens however turned to the new thing like most teens do .They stared following the fashion of the hippies and there beliefs .
