Jealousy

             To many life is a never-ending game. We struggle to keep going, and very few of us ever make it to a "winning" position. Those who we do consider the winners of life we secretly envy and wish to be more like. Often, we develop a strong dislike or even hatred for those of which we believe were handed happiness. Now, while we have all heard the phrase "money is the root of all evil", one has not considered what the "money" has actually done. Thus, this statement is revised to its true form; Jealousy is the root of all evil.
             That girl in high school, the sickingly gorgeous one who ruled over everyone or the jock that seemed to get all the girls, while managing to be the star of every sports team, both are the common subjects of dispisal in teen society. Perhaps these people of undeserved lifestyles seem familiar. For we have all seen them and there are those of us who have grown to look at them in disgust. Commonly, we do not know the person. While one may use the excuse that they are snobbish or rude, it is just as common for someone of lower status to be the same way. Yet, they are left out of the "hatred circle" simply because they are seen in a totally different light. Is it also not false that one is subject to a bad day, bad week or even a bad year during their life? Often, when we do not truthfully know the person, if we were to set back and put aside our personal feelings and think about what these people have actually done so horrible to be hated, we would arrive at an empty conclusion. For one must do something far greater that participate in high school games to be hated. These empty conclusions point toward the one source of jealousy.
             Jealousy has appeared in many more situations other than petty high school social status. Living an average length life, most of us will have been present during the time of war. Perhaps one could consider the current "War on Terror" bein...
