It was my most difficult, yet beautiful experience playing soccer. It was the last play of the season of 1998 between "Los Pumas" and "La Rasa"; I was playing with "Los Pumas" as a goalie at the time. We had to win 20 of 25 plays in the season to be playing for the trophy and we did it! The final play was played on December 8th of 1998 at 12:00 noon in El Capulin Michoacan Mexico, my home town. The team that wins the play will be the champion of the county. "La Rasa" was expected to win this final game, because the last time that we played vs. them the score was 3-1 in their favor. The fact that everyone was rooting for the other team made it more interesting to us.
             When we started to warm up, some of the people who were there were fascinated by how we were passing the ball, and some of them started to applauses us. I was very happy to see the people, and I could see the happy faces of the members of my team too. At the end of warm up our couch called every one of us over and we made a circle to talk and remember for a moment, all the sacrifices that we had made during the season in order to be there. Then we broke the circle calling the name of "Pumas".
             I started to walk toward the goal box because I was the goalie, and I could see to the right side of the stadium where all the girlfriends of every one of the team members sat, including mine. They were calling loudly the name of our team. I didn't have time to see anything else because at that moment we started the first half of the game, and I put all my attention on what was going on with the ball, my team, and the instructions of our coach. During the first fifteen minutes, "La Rasa" was all over us; the game had been played just in side of my goal box. With my quick reactions and the help of my team we resisted their attack.
