Rosa also tells Quentin that she "saw that man (Sutpen) return-the evil's source and head which had outlasted all its victims-who had created two children not old to destroy one another and his own line, but my line as well" (12). Rosa is a firm believer that Sutpen is pure "evil," and that he used that "evil" to demolish his own, as well as her family. Although we do not know much about Sutpen at this point, we cannot fully believe Rosa. She tells her own personal biased story that has been influenced by events in her own life.
             Mr. Compson is another prime example of a storyteller who does not know all the information needed to paint an accurate picture of Sutpen. His stories depict Sutpen as an ambitious man. However, his description of events is based on inaccurate and incomplete information. He creates a story based on the few facts he knows, which causes the reader to doubt the validity of the story as a whole.
