Is the mind separate from the brain?
The question "Is the mind separate from the brain?" is a question that has baffled scientist from Aristotle, and Hipocrates, to the modern day scientist. Right now our scientist are not able to answer this question. It is a matter of opion. To form your opion on this topic you must ask yourself " is the brain complex enough to control the mind?" Is there truly a soul which forms are personality and thought process? Understanding the human mind is a very important to our future, and answering this question is essential for the study.
A view held by many scientist is that the brain controls the mind, and that the brain and mind are one and the same. They feel that our imagination is controlled by neurons and impulses in our brain. This impulses work to form our thoughts and ideas.
The other side is that the mind and brain are separate. These people feel that there is a soul which controls our imagination, thoughts, and emotions. To them the brain is simply an organ, which is not complex enough to handle human thought process.. The brain simply controls bodily functions like all other organs.
These two opposing sides both have valid arguments. The answer to the question" Is the mind separate from the brain?" is still not available to us. The answer is very important to future studies of the mind. Science would like to believe that the brain and mind are one, so that they would have something to measure and to study.
