The Beach

             People all over the world, at a given point in time, go someplace to get away from everyday life. This place is typically where one can be alone and reflect on their life. One might desire to go to a calm lake or a serene field of dandelions, but where I set off to is the peaceful beach. I go to this sacred place of serenity, tranquility, and optimism, when I have unanswered questions or when I am down in the dumps. I go to the beach before crack of dawn when there are no crowds or traffic, just the beach and me. This is where I can be I alone with my thoughts. The three main components of the seashore that strike me as the most meaningful are the wind, water, and sky.
             When I make my routine visits to the seashore, the first thing I stumble upon is the wind. This breeze is like no other; it is mixture of the sea salt and familiar air that generates a sense of welcoming. Furthermore, the wind acts as an antidote for my frustrations in life. I let all my anger and imperfections travel far away with the wind. The breeze also whirls and twirls my long golden locks in every direction. This occurrence transports me back in time, to when I was young and spinning on the merry-go-round and my hair whirling around with it. The wind tastes like a crisp saltine cracker that my mother would pack in my lunch. Gliding along with the wind are feathery white and black seagulls. The gulls' chatter escalates with the rising sun. The birds and I are alone with the wind and together we witness the world become alive with daybreak.
             While the wind continues to gust, the sky becomes active as the sun begins rise. This is the most exhilarating part of the, when I feel journey the first sunrays that peep over the horizon on my face. The sunrays fulfill me with warmth and comfort. The most brilliant
