Pardner

             The Pardoner's Tale Geoffrey Chaucer is a story about a bad but intelligent clergyman and how he steals from the citizens of his village. The clergyman preaches to the people and tells stories to reinforce the notion that "money is the root of evil." Each story was designed to coerce the citizens to make donations which he would keep for himself. The clergyman tells a story about three young men who go on a search for death, but while they're traveling, they come across a treasure of gold. The three men were excited about their find, but little did they know that they were about to enter a period of great trouble. The men were not satisfied with dividing the gold between themselves, and each one devised a plan to kill the others so that they could have all the gold.
             As each man wanted the gold for himself, he attempted to kill the other two men. Onde of them stabbed and killed one of his friends, then the other two
             tried to poison the other in their drink, but the plane went bad and
             they both ended up drinking the poison and dieing.
             After the clergy told that story to his listeners he would
             explain how evil of money causes greed within everyone, so all the
             listeners would feel guilty and give their money away to this bad
             man. All of a sudden one day someone in the tavern feels as if the
             Pardoner is just a big fraud, and this makes the Pardoner very mad and
             upset. As the two argue and disagree with one another, someone in the
             tavern feels as if they should result the argument by kissing.
             As I sat and thought about the Pardoner Tale I began to think
             of how the clergy brings up a good story to a good point, but on the
             other hand I feel as if he is just taking advantage of his higher
             authority and scanning money from others. The story of the three
