Choice?

             Homosexuality is defined as the sexual orientation and or activity between two persons of the same sex. Men and women who belong to this category of people have been suffering for quite some time now due to law and society's morals influenced by passages in the bible. Same sex couples are unable to have the same unison and benefits as a heterosexual couple, and are thought of as immoral and perverted. The truth is, the immorality prevails within their very own words. How can someone use an individual's sexual preference against him or her? How can you deny anyone, no matter who they are, the wealth of being in love? Every aspect of this debate has been brought up and not once has the opposing side had anything close to a securely logical argument. They say it's not normal but decades ago it wasn't normal for a woman to vote or for an African American to use the same bathroom as a Caucasian. It's all relevant.
             Leonard P. Matlovich, a very well known gay rights activist once said, "When I was in the military they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one" (Homosexuality Quotes). When will the prejudice end? Our nations Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" (Declaration of Independence). Important as this document might be, these words seem to have been abandoned. Bestowed upon every man and woman, as the Declaration states, is our right to the pursuit of happiness. Never once does it say that the authority of this text is subject to change in consideration of sexual preference. Seems to me as if it's all just another brainless approach at getting around a debate that solely exists on discrimination.
