Men on the other had been expected to be the breadwinners and to provide for his wife and children. All of these new ideas were known as "family values" and so became very important to the middle classes, as it was part of their new lifestyle in the new industrial society.
             The middle class developed during the turbulent decades of the late eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century.
