Starting a campfire can be less complicated then most people would think, yet it can be a longer process then one would think. The first thing that would have to be done is to designate a particular place to build a campfire; if being a campground, a backyard, public beach, or a park of some sort. Next you will have to find out if it would be allowed to build a campfire in the spot that is desired, and for that to happen the owners/operators will have to be notified. At a campground you would have to find out if the campground is equipped to have campfires. If it were not equipped to have campfires then most likely the campground will not let anyone to have a campfire. If you were in a residential area like a backyard, next-door neighbor's house, or a beach, a permit would be needed to have a campfire. It is illegal to have a campfire in a residential area without a permit given by the local area police. So in order to get a permit you would have to go to the closest police station to the area in which the fire would take place. Then to get a permit a form will have to be filled out, and a police officer would have to survey the area where the fire will be held. After that a fire pit will have to be constructed. In order to do that it will require a shovel, and several stones or something in which to keep the fire in a small area as a barrier. Next a small hole will have to be dug and then a barrier around the hole so the fire could not escape. After that the campfire can be made. First the right materials will have to be gathered. Some of the materials would be kindling, paper (newspaper is preferred), well burning wood, matches or lighter. After that the paper should be balled up into 3-inch spheres and put in a circle in the middle of the fire pit. Then the kindling can be put on top of the paper.
