             George W. Bush was born on July 6th, 1946 and grew up in Midland and Houston, Texas. He went to Yale University, where he received his bachelor's degree, and Harvard Business School, where he received his MBA. From there he went on to join the Texas Air National Guard. Serving as a F-102 pilot.
             Bush's began his career in 1975 for the oil and gas business of Midland. Then worked in the energy industry until 1986. He worked on his father's 1988 presidential campaign and then decided to assemble a group of partners and purchase the Texas Rangers baseball franchise one year later. While he was a partner, they built the Ballpark at Arlington.
             When Bush became a Governor on November 8, 1994, he left the baseball franchise to focus on his office. On November 3, 1998 he became the first Texas Governor to be elected to consecutive four-year terms. Bush is currently the 46th Governor of the state of Texas. While in office he has made some of the biggest tax cuts in state history, nearly $3 billion, to Texas taxpayers. He is currently running in the 2000 presidential election. He gained enough delegates to become the Republican nominee for president on March 14, 2000. If elected President, Bush wants to improve public schools, reduce taxes, and strengthen Social Security and Medicare. Currently he is a top runner in the presidential election.
             Governor Bush lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Laura, their two 18-year-old twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, their dog, Spot, and their two cats, India and Ernie. They stay in the historic Governor's mansion of Austin when Bush is not on the move or out of town.
